Had both and they are very simlar but the viszla is probaly just a bit more sensitive. Sensibly trained they they will give you years of companionship. Most of what you say is total tubbish.

Lovely breed, but ours would have been a rubbish gundog; he hated loud noises!! Maybe that's why he was in the pound. Made it to 15yo before the dreaded C got him. Much missed RIP Harry.

Love gsp dogs. It took a while to grt him to stop putting his mouth on a teacup yorkie...

It's my belief that training should begin with the breeders. I imprint my GSP pups starting at 5 days old with a massage that you would die to receive. Humans are the only species capable of giving them this much pleasure....and it's a powerful training tool and a tool dogs will do anything to receive it. GSP's are pack animals to put it mildly and need to be raised to know who sits on the top of the ladder. In a pack, the highest honor is to be groomed by the highest ranking elder....the highest ranking elder is the one that gives the best focused and pleasurable attention. Just an added note: You must be smarter than the dog, never allow a single rule to be broken, always stand on the top of the ladder without waiver....if you can do those....they are the best dog anyone could ever hope for.

My day with a 3 months old gsp: Wake up at 5:45 , take him in bed. Get biting and attacked when I say no Put my shoes on (20 minuts biting ankle, hands and shoes) Prepare myself in the bathroom , he start crying like crazy because he is alone Go for a walk , he pull , jump , jump on everything and take every piece of trash he see Come home and feed him , jump 58 times at the table for my food And almost talk to me when I say no. He give up offcourse. Than bench training. , crying like crazy. Separation anxiety 100% I go to work and don’t give a fuck He sleep because I record when not home I come home and start biting till it bleeds , sleep , bite , sleep , bite Than I go for a walk at noon , feed him I go to work again. Evening I come home and he bite again. I don’t want to go home but I have him now Jumping on me when I eat, barking when I don’t look at him , crying in the bench when I cook , I go shower and he cry more that the neighbors complain

I have a 17wk old GSP - he is A LOT of work! He is a hearty little guy. Has managed to eat a lot of fringe off an expensive sofa without any health repercussions. Yet, he is so so loving and a big clown. I really would be lost on training if it wasn't for my 20 month old Doberman girl. She had him housebroken by 9 weeks (she is super sharp). And, she has trained him in the 'no hard biting' arena too. My doberman is more stoic and serious but this curious little clown has given her a less serious attitude. Both share the same energy level. So, its been non-stop laughs for us watching them play. This GSP also is no slacker, he gives 100% of himself in everything. It suprises me to see him already jumping in the river and chasing her up the embankments, jumping in the swimming pool. One thing about my little guy that i didn't expect was that he whines incessively! If he doesn't get his way, he whines and grumbles. I really adore this little guy, but I'm so glad I got him after getting my doberman. He's a handful to keep attentive, and is easily bored with training. My doberman was extremely easy to train and quickly learned a plethora of words. Dobermans are smarter, but he has an instinctive intelligence she's learning from him. Agile, curious, silly, and brave are words that describe my GSP. 😇😈

I have s h German pointer. She’s absolutely beautiful so loyal so loving but I gotta admit I love GermanShepherd too.

Omg now I get the jumping part of my mixed gp 😂❤️ so helpful 🙏🏻🙏🏻 and she is following me everywhere like a tail, and collecting other dogs who obey their owners 😂

are vizsla was fine around are cat i think it helped that he was around cats his whole life. are cat would somtimes sleep on him and he never minded. he was also a really good hunting dog. hardly had to do anything he kinda just knew what to do to find birds. and boy could he play fetch. he would play fetch for hours in are backyard. and also would help clean up are walnuts cause he thought they were tennis balls lol

I'm on my second GSP. Both are great hunting companions. I get called up by other hunters wanting to know what 'The Nose' is doing! I don't bother going out unless i can take my dog. She does all the looking for me 😊

Having owned several GSP, your advice and insights are 100% spot on. Good size yard and a willingness to get out in the field. Two, GSPs are much better than one. They feed off each other , we get to watch and enjoy.

I've just adopted a GSHP mixed with our local Maltese Kacca breed. He is just amazing. He really got the best of both breeds as he is lively, active yet very obedient and eager to please like a pointer but also knows how to be calm in most situations and is very sensitive and in tune with most people and other animals he meets like our local Kacca dogs. He doesn't have a big hunting instinct though as his breeds would suggest he'd have. Hence why I think he was abandoned and left tied to a tree at less than a year old, so we suspect he is a possible hunting dog fail. But he is the perfect dog for us non hunters and we are so grateful to have him. GSHPs are really beautiful dogs.

We blindly rescued a 7 month old GSP and learned as we grew as a family. The first night he literally pee pee’d on 2 different beds & our couch. In his defense he was so nervous. 😥 He is now a year & 1/2 & we love him so much! In the middle of the night he sneaks under our covers & sleeps between my husband and I. 😅 I’ve had various AKC breeds throughout my life & I believe he is one of the smartest!!! I am home with him all day every day & when joined our family he gained an English Chocolate Lab (we bought) & an Aussiedoodle we rescued. The 3 get along better than I have ever seen any dogs together. Life is so much better with our GORGEOUS GSP! ❤❤❤

This guy has no solutions to this problem. I have a GSP and no one has been able to get him to stop pulling. We left him with a highly ranked trainer for a few days a few years ago and when we got him back he had a festering hole in his neck. Clearly the guy got so frustrated he put some sort of choke collar with a spike on it to dig into throat. Still didn’t work. My GSP only stops pulling after a 15k run. I think their breeding for the hunt drives them to want to be three metres ahead of the hunter at all times. They were never bred to go for walks.

Is there a different In personality with american Labrador body type and English Labrador I always have american I prefer the look over English but I've never meet the English type so I just curious if the personality is different

Sounds like you're describing a Dalmatian. A friend got one and he ran her, which was great. I would chase her around the yard and then walk her cuz I can't run. Boy, did she have a mind of her own, though mostly a good girl. I'd never get either dog, because of my disabilities now, but I love to watch Walle, a GSP, on the Zazu Talks channel. His daddy takes him on his mountain bike rides, and he still gets daily walks beside that with his older brother, Zazu, a Labrador Retriever. And Walle is handsome. I love to watch GSPs.

I’m sending him to day care 8 hours a day then exercising him for 1-3 hours a night mixed in with obedience training? Is that considered enough exercise? He just never seems too tired to bark at the neighbor dogs even if it’s just a bark he’s heard from blocks away

I wouldnt get one unless im gonna hunt with it. As Im a hunter, ofc thats on the menu.

We have an awesome very dominant female, was alpha of litter. Now she's an angel & good hunter We meet tons of owners w/ sad stories. You need to be active (extremely) and good @ training. Good video.

We have a 14 week old GSP and she growls and tries to bite us when she is tired and try to pick her up. What can we do to stop this. She is not food aggressive at all!

I have a german shorthaired pointer/ lab. She is extremely hyper. I put her on her run that's made for 100lbs. She broke it in 2 hours

I don't like the rubber band leads it is confusing for your dog and you, not directly in control of your dog, I have one and don't like it at all

The vizsla a smaller ginger version of the german pointer. My dog regularly plays with a pair of Vizsla that live in the area , lovely friendly energetic dogs

Thanks for another great video. I see from the comments that a lot of people want to skip past the psychological component, and go to actual video footage of training. I have learned over the past 50 years of owning and training GSPs that establishing a leadership role with your pup is the first step. That, and using the least amount of force as possible. My latest little girl was a rescue dog out of a young family who had no idea how to control a high powered breed like a GSP. They paid over $3,000.00 for her as a 7 week old pup, and ended up just giving her away. She was my biggest challenge ever, but after about 6 months has become the most lovable push-button little sweetie! Please people, pay attention to the psychology of training, and become a proper pack leader.

Almost 4 minutes into your video and you’ve given no information on how to do what it is you’re making a video to do in the future it would be great if you would simply just start the video we know why we wanna do it. We just need to know how to do it and continually going on about why we need to do itis pointless

I was expecting him to be a lot chiller than he is, but no amount of convicing stops him from wanting to chase or investigate any other living being in his field of sight. Oh well, live with what you got.
